Moving an old system to the cloud, one step at a time

The riskiest way to move is all at once, on one long night. We move one system at a time, and every step can be undone.

Start with an inventory

List every system, what it depends on, who uses it and what it costs today. Most surprises in a migration come from a dependency nobody wrote down.

Move the low-risk parts first

Start with something useful but low risk, such as a reporting database or a staging site. The team learns the new platform before anything important depends on it.

Keep a way back

Before each cut-over, the old system stays ready and the data stays in sync. If the new one misbehaves, switching back takes minutes, not days.

Tip: Plan the cut-over

Lower the DNS TTL a day ahead, so a switch in either direction reaches everyone quickly.

Switch off the old system last

The old system is retired only after a few quiet weeks on the new platform, and its last backup is kept. Talk to us about the system you would move first.
